A few weeks ago I said to Andy "I think it would be a lovely thing if I could see an apple tree when I look out of the kitchen window..." and what do you think he did?! Yep yeppity yep, he bought me a little cox's orange pippin tree (which should give us fruit next year) from a nice man on ebay and it arrived last week... and 'we' had to plant it in the dark because it arrived on a tuesday and it's dark when Andy gets home from work, and I couldn't dig the hole myself. I held the torch, and tried to read the instructions. And I really hope the apple tree is enjoying its new home. I am enjoying seeing it every time I look out of the window :) I will try to remember to take a picture of the baby tree because it really is one of my favourite things in all the world right now :) and the best thing about it? Andy bought it for me :)
until I get a pic of the apple tree, here are some pears from Andy's mum and dad's pear tree in the garden at 'the cottage'. They are delicious - the little boys have gobbled them all up.
